Instagram doesn't provide a direct sharing URL like Twitter and Facebook do.

On mobile: Open the Instagram app and copy the shared text to the clipboard

On desktop: Show a message explaining that Instagram sharing is only available on mobile
When users click the Instagram button on mobile:
The shared text is copied to their clipboard
The Instagram app opens to the camera/new post screen

They'll need to manually paste the text and add any images they want to share

Users will see a message on desktop devices explaining that Instagram sharing is only available on mobile devices.

How does referrer or new client have access to it?

Or can it it be used as a lading page to redirect the referral link?

404 Not Found Error

1'm getting a 404 Not Found message.

How can I fix this?

1) You can choose No, and you don't need to do anything

2) if you choose Yes, then you need to add this code to .htaccess file to make it work

While I used a bullet list the output is just plain text.

Installing Refer A Friend is very simple. The following steps will guide you through the process:

1 - Upload the entire folder to your website - if you experience problems, try uploading in binary mode. However, do not upload the “upload” folder, just the files inside of it!
2 - Login to admin area, go to Configuration > System Settings > Addon Module
3 - In the Addons page you will see the Refer A Friend click activate then click configure to see the options
4 - Check Full Administrator box in the Access Control then click save changes
5 - To set the module to go to Addons > Refer A Friend

If you choose no then you don't need to do nothing

If you choose Yes then you need to edit the .htaccess

I have added the ReWrite rules to .htaccess in the root of our WHMCS install but the rules are being ignored - so all related links are giving a 404 error.

ANSWER: If Friendly URLs are enabled, the rules must go before these in the existing .htaccess otherwise they get ignored.

here is what you need to add
